FREE ALCOHOL...joking, but I got you to look! - It’s true that alcohol is not going to help you towards your goals or getting healthier, but for you, not having it could affect your social life, your relaxing Friday night or a special dinner with a loved one which overall is probably going to have a worse effect on your life. - That’s why my ethos is everything is ok, just don’t lose your mind! Here are some top tips for enjoying a drink without smashing in too many calories all at once: 1. Pick lower calorie drinks such as low carb beer (coors light ) or lower sugar wine 2. If you are drinking spirits reduce the alcohol amount and add more of the diet tonic or soda 3. Sugar free dilute juice flavours up a vodka nicely! 4. Water down drinks my making a spritzer or a shandy; I still get just as buzzed but I’m consuming half as many calories by adding sugar free lemonade and ice. 5. Drink water with your alcohol, this also prevents you from being the drunken arsehole at the party! 6. We had a 6:30 am start at my business mastermind this morning in San Diego . We were forced to get out of our comfort zone by doing 10 hill sprints, 100 sit ups, 200 push ups and 300 squats . For someone who doesn’t do cardio, it was a good challenge . Now, I’m ready to tackle the day! .

I am no longer dieting. I am no longer trying to lose weight. I am not in maintenance mode. I’m just living. Everyone’s weight fluctuates due to many factors. It is normal for the number on the scale to move around. Diet culture has so many people worried about the number on the scale that they forget about what being healthy actually is. Everyone has to be on some kind of diet it seems: keto, paleo, whole 30, ww, nutrisystem, etc. I don’t find it healthy to be dieting for 10+ years. There’s a reason why people stay on programs for so long. It’s because their not succeeding. Most people who are lifelong dieters have a unhealthy relationship with food. They overeat, undereat, binge, reward themselves with food, whatever the case may be. Until those issues are resolved, dieting won’t truly work. I did join weight watchers after I had my last baby and I’ll be honest. It did more harm than good. Yes I hit my goal weight and yes I look better but mentally it was draining. I was obsessing over counting points, not going over points, and watching every little thing I ate. That’s. Not. Healthy! I do not credit ww for my weight loss. I knew how to properly eat before I joined. I only wanted the app as a means of accountability. Ww doesn’t tell you how to eat. I made the right choices and lost the weight. It makes me sad when I see people struggling because I know how it feels. The unhealthy relationship with food needs to be tackled but when people are in denial it’s just a vicious cycle of losing & gaining. Food is meant to be enjoyed but more importantly it’s supposed to be fuel for your body. It’s what keeps you running. Eating a ton of artificial foods because their lower in points or calories is only beneficial to your dieting app, not your actual body. Overall health should be what’s top priority. Unfortunately I learned most of this stuff the hard way but breaking free from dieting culture was the best thing I’ve done. I’ll also throw this out there: I think the @kurbohealth app is fucking stupid. @ww is trying to target a younger audience & acquire more lifelong members. This is how eating disorders start. Take it from someone still recovering from one.

Focus on your fuel. . Anyone out there have IBS, like me? Made some changes to my eating routine this week and after meals I don’t look 6 months pregnant anymore! . I don’t eat 3 large meals with no snacks anymore, I eat 5 smaller meals, that are balanced... chew my food up REAL good... and I’ve been keeping gluten out of my diet 90% of the time, unless I want a donut, then I fit it in. Did you know that your body relies heavily on protein to help prevent sickness AND to help you get over being sick by creating new cells while building and repairing your body tissue? Protein also helps to keep you in an anabolic state - which is muscle sparing/building and fat burning! Who doesn’t love lean beautiful muscles??? AND since it has a higher TEF (thermic effect on food ) our bodies have to work harder to break down and use protein as energy so it gives you a little metabolic boost!
