Myth-busting: Fasted cardio for more fat loss ===================================== This myth has prevailed in the fitness industry since decades and the origin of this myth back in 1976 wherein research it showed who did fast cardio used more stored fat than those who have consumed glucose before. But this does not take into account the entire picture- it is true that you use more stored! fat during the cardio session but it does not mean that you will lose more fat the entire day. What does this mean? It means that your training intensity shouldn’t change, just because your physique goals do. . . If you lifted heavy to gain muscle, then that same approach should be applied while cutting and decreasing body fat.. . To decrease body fat and lose, we know that calories must decrease, no matter how heavy you lift. By default, your energy consumption will not be as high and strength will be affected. During periods of reduced caloric intake, the body must compensate for this lack of energy. When you lessen your loads and intensity while doing this, and don’t push to still lift heavy, you give your nervous system a message that you don’t need to keep some of the muscle that you built while gaining, especially since you aren’t using it while cutting. . . While cutting, it’s very possible you will lose some muscle because of the calorie decrease and the drop off in loads. That’s common. But the goal is to minimize this to the least degree. Don’t maximize it by eliminating the intensity and lifting heavy approach while cutting. Lifting heavy ensures that your body realizes that the muscle that is there, is important! PS-HEAVY LIFTING BY ITSELF DOES NOT MAKE YOU BULKY.

I think you're forgetting something. - You keep up with your calories - You watch everything you eat - You're not snacking or cheating - But you're still not losing weight. You might be eating great, but did you think to look at what you're drinking? Some of the most calorie loaded items come in liquid forms. From Starbucks white chocolate mocha @ 470 calories to a large Sonic Slush @ 380 calories. And these aren't even close to the highest calories you'll find in drinks. Here are some of your everyday beverages Can of coke- 150 cals 8 oz of 2% milk- 120 cals 8 oz of lemon-lime Gatorade- 200 cals McDonald's small vanilla shake- 490 cals McAllister's Sweet Tea- 150 cals Now there is nothing wrong with calories in your drink, if you want to spend them on that drink. But if you find yourself not making progress, drinks could easily could be the problem. Or even, heaven forbid, switch to the diet version and save a ton on calories. Listen I am like the kitchen version of MacGyver, I swear! I literally had 2 small zucchini, some frozen leeks, and an empty stomach. So I said 🤔🤔🤔 what about a summer soup? Soup in the summer?! Yep! Now even with my cute red garnish this is not the prettiest dish but we talk all the time on this page about looking beyond the surface. This soup is light, flavorful, easy to make, and nutritious. I sautéed the leeks first in a little olive oil, added some minced garlic, then the chopped zucchini tossed it in with some seasonings. Put a top on the pot, turned it down, let it steam about 12 minutes or so. Put it in the blender with about 2/3 of a cup of water and blended until it was smooth. You can eat it hot or cold. A couple Tiff Tips: 1. You can add a little milk or cream if you want it even creamier. 2. I bet adding curry spice would be a nice add. 3. To make this heartier in fall/winter add a potato. . . **And this would fit a vegan diet too**

Family Fued and steak. Is it weird I'm trying to teach myself to eat 2 Ribeyes in one setting? Usually spans like 90 mins but I eat so little during the day I wasn't getting "enough" calories for maintenance. Still trying to lose fat but giving the body a break AND.... We all have “one of those days”. The schedules stacked from the AM to the PM. No time to breathe. Lunch time? What’s that! I get it. It’s pretty much the life of a trainer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The last thing you wanna do is even think about a workout, but you want to remain consistent. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you do? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Having a program to follow always trumps “winging it,” but for those days where you’re strapped for time and just wanna lift some sh*t, sweat, then leave. Keep it simple. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Problem: I had “one of those days”, 20 minutes and needed to get some solid work in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The solution: • A compound movement, building up to a RPE (rate of perceived exertion. A practical way, to keep things simple and based on “feel” ) ~7-8 • Metabolic conditioning ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For this I did: 20 minutes on the clock. Minimal rest between exercise. Up to 1 minute rest after each set. • Hip with stance back squat (not shown ) • Suitcase DB swings to overhead press • 150m ski erg (alternating staggered stance )
