Redeeming myself from last time I attempted Pillars Of Creation and it looked like crap. Kinda surprised how well it turned out for only 5 hours of data. Im was pretty excited about this one!!! This was my first Galaxy!!! After Hours and hours exposing this under a beautiful night sky, to the last 7 hours straight post processing this has seriously been a mission. This is also the farthest object I have photographed. I made the jump from 4,000 Light years in my last deep space image (Trifid Nebula ) to 21 MILLION light years away! Id like to introduce to you the Pinwheel Galaxy also known as M101. Located in Ursa Major also known as the Big Dipper and is over twice the size of the Milky Way. Its a star making machine with over 3000 star birthing regions in its spiral arms and has produced over a trillion stars. Just to get an idea of how far it is away the Juno Space Probe is the fastest man made object in history and is traveling though space at 150,000 MPH, and even that ship would take 400 billion years to reach. The thing that fascinates me the most is that when light left that galaxy 21 million years ago there was only 2 continents. California was underwater, prehistoric creatures were regrowing after the wipe out of the dinosaurs, Humans didn't exists... we were just straight up apes. Ive always said that Telescopes are time machines. Its amazing that i was able to capture and store 21 million year old light traveling though the depths of space uninterrupted by anything....until it hit my lens. Brilliant. I hope to revisit this Galaxy with at least 6-8 hours of data and a larger telescope in the future. The Eagle Nebula is a cloud of gas and dust about 7000 light years away. It’s located in one of the inner arms of the Milky Way galaxy called the Sagittarius arm. It measures about 70 light years by 55 light years across (a light year is about 5.9 trillion miles ). #astronomy #astrophoto #amateurastrophotography #astrophotographer #deepsky #nightsky #astrobackyard #astrophotography #nebula #nightsky #nightskyphotos #deepsky #astrobackyard #backyardastronomy #elephanttrunknebula #explorescientific , #scienceiscool #practicalastrophotography #astrofografia #natgeospace #ig_astrophotography #universetoday #universe #telescope #cosmos #picoftheday #photooftheday

The Andromeda Galaxy ... again I added another two hours of time last night on this beautiful galaxy while watching the Perseids. This is a total of 4hr 10 minutes at 60 and 90 second exposures. Shot with my Explore Scientific ED80. The Perseids will be in full glory tonight between 3 and 4 am just after the moon sets and before the sun comes up. Look to the north. It will be clear in the Northeast US so don’t forget to look up! - #andromeda #andromedagalaxy #galaxy #Perseids #perseidmeteorshower #perseid #sky #nightsky #night #nightowl #space #deepspace #stars #telescope #universe #moon #sunrise #explorescientific #canon #canonrebel #photoshop #photoshopcc #photography #astro #astrophotography #imageoftheday #lookup #nasa #connecticut #naturalconnecticut @explorescientific

Went back through some photos from last year and re-edited them to make this time lapse. I like how the Milky Way pops more in this one. You can see Jupiter shining bright off to the right and it’s reflection on the water. There are so many things I like from this photo, the fog creeping on the lake on the right throughout the night as well as the smoke from a fire nearby zigzagging throughout the time lapse. ~300 photos shot over 3 hours at Seven Springs 📷 📷 📷 📷 📷 📷 📷 📷 📸: Nikon D7500 Tokina 11-16 @ 11mm f2.8 iso 3200 30s 🍕 🍕 🍕 🍕 #lagoonnebula #trifidnebula #nikon #milkyway #astrophotography #donuts #nikonusa #d7500 #astronomy #space #science #galaxy #nasa #astrophoto #longexposure #astro #timelapse #natgeospace #milkywaycore #milkywaychasers #nightsky #celestron #explorescientific #milkywaytimelapse #sevensprings #ride7springs #darkskies

Wow it's been so long sine I captured the Omega Nebula, back in 2014. Here I present it to you this time in HaRGB 😀 I had to change the orientation of this target differently from my Ha attempt due to the fact that the camera was positioned differently when I caught the Ha data with the Baader Modded Canon 40D, and then capture the colour data with the Color CCD so nevertheless, still very happy!! It is made up of 113 x 1 minute shots for 2hr and 13min total exposure time. After all the haze from the Alaskan forest fires have cleared, I got a chance to capture Caldwell 33, NGC 6960, and Caldwell 34. Which from left to right are the Eastern Veil Nebula, Witch's Broom, and Western Veil Nebula. I've captured each of these individually so it was exciting to get all of them in one frame! This one of my favorite objects in the sky with it's vibrant colors and structure. #astrophotography #canon #t3i #skywatcher #explorescientific #extendedexposure #caldwell
