#astrophoto2019 #deepsky #astronomie #photography #astronome #astrophotography #astronomie #astrophotos #cielprofond #nuit #etoiles

The Leo Triplet, or the M66 Group, is a group of interacting spiral galaxies located in the northern constellation Leo. The group consists of the galaxies Messier 65, Messier 66 and NGC 3628, also known as the Hamburger Galaxy. The Leo Triplet lies at an approximate distance of 35 million light years from Earth. The three large spiral galaxies can be seen in a single field of view and are well viewed even in small telescopes. Their galactic disks are tilted at different angles when seen from Earth. NGC 3628appears edge-on, while M65 and M66 are inclined enough to reveal their spiral arms. NGC 1499: The California Nebula Drifting through the Orion Arm of the spiral Milky Way Galaxy, this cosmic cloud by chance echoes the outline of California on the west coast of the United States. Our own Sun also lies within the Milky Way's Orion Arm, only about 1,500 light-years from the California Nebula. Also known as NGC 1499, the classic emission nebula is around 100 light-years long. The California Nebula shines with the telltale reddish glow characteristic of hydrogen atoms recombining with long lost electrons. The electrons have been stripped away, ionized by energetic starlight. Most likely providing the energetic starlight that ionizes much of the nebular gas is the bright, hot, bluish star Xi Persei just to the right of the nebula. A popular target for astrophotographers, this deep California Nebula image is a 6 panel telecopic mosaic and covers a wide field of view. The nebula lies toward the constellation Perseus, not far from the Pleiades. FINALLY! I got clear skies last night and was able to get a photo of my favorite SPACE object. I have been fascinated with the Andromeda Galaxy ever since I got into astronomy and is the perfect object to shoot during my last few days at home before going to school. The Andromeda Galaxy (M31/NGC224 ) is the closest spiral galaxy to the Milky Way at 2,540,000 light years away. It is over 220,000 light years across and contains over 1,000,000,000,000 stars. At this distance it is also the farthest object visible with the naked eye. Although it may seem distant now, in approximately 4,500,000,000 years it will collide with the Milky Way. First time success with narrowband imaging using a one-shot color camera. Sharpless 101 (Sh2-101 ), known as the Tulip Nebula is an H II emission nebula located about 8000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus (the swan ). It was first catalogued by American astronomer Steward Sharpless in 1959 with an apparent magnitude of +9.0. As perceived from Earth, it is in close proximity to Cygnus X-1, one of the strongest X-ray sources detected which is suspected as a black hole candidate. NGC 6729 is a butterfly-shaped emission/reflection object that is a variable nebula, powered by the irregular variable star, R Coronae Australis (R CrA ). R CrA was discovered about 100 years ago. HH objects are shown as delicate, small arcs of glowing gas. They originate as energetic outflows from embryonic stars that are still forming and cloaked inside gas and dust. Bernes 157 is dark nebula that is so dense that stars inside the nebula and behind it cannot shine through. It was discovered by Edward Pigott in March 1779. M64 is actually composed of two concentric, counter-rotating systems. While all the stars in M64 rotate in the same direction as the interstellar gas in the galaxy's central region, gas in the outer regions, extending to about 40,000 light-years, rotates in the opposite direction. The dusty eye and bizarre rotation are likely the result of a billion year old merger of two different galaxies. #astro #asztrofoto #astrophoto #astrofoto #csillagaszat #astrophotography #astronomia #sky #thedailycosmos #astrofotografie #deepskyphotography #deepsky #deepspace #astrophotographer #astrophotography_ #astrophotographers #astronomy #astronomyphotography #astronomynerd #astronomylover #nebulosity #milkywayphotography #galaxy #galaxies #qhyccd #messier #photooftheday #fornaxmounts

NASA chose this beautiful image taken from our observatory as their Astronomy Picture of the Day! #apod This image was taken by Martin Pugh using his CDK17 telescope. Martin is a world famous astrophotographer who is hosting one of his telescopes with us since a couple of months ago : ) (Explicación en español en los comentarios ) Nearby Spiral Galaxy NGC 4945  Explanation: Large spiral galaxy NGC 4945 is seen edge-on near the center of this cosmic galaxy portrait. In fact, it's almost the size of our Milky Way Galaxy. NGC 4945's own dusty disk, young blue star clusters, and pink star forming regions standout in the sharp, colorful telescopic image. About 13 million light-years distant toward theexpansive southern constellation Centaurus, NGC 4945 is only about six times farther away than Andromeda, the nearest large spiral galaxy to the Milky Way. Though this galaxy's central region is largely hidden from view for optical telescopes, X-ray and infrared observations indicate significant high energy emission and star formation in the core of NGC 4945. Its obscured but active nucleus qualifies the gorgeous island universe as a Seyfert galaxy and home to a central supermassive black hole. #astrophotography #astronomy #astronomia #deepsky #galaxy #ngc4945 #telescopehosting #observatorioelsauce #remoteobservatory #night #telescope #astrophoto #astroimaging #nasa #OfficinaStellare #chile #astrofotografiachile #astronomiachile

Sadr in the left center part of the image. Even though the star looks like it's part of the nebula, it isn't. The star is approx. 1800 light years away, while the nebula is 4900 light years away. The Horsehead Nebula, a dark nebula also known as Barnard 33, is located in constellation Orion. The Horsehead Nebula is very close to Earth compared to other deep sky objects at only 1,500 light-years away. It is filled with beautiful hydrogen gas clouds and thick dust, which make up the Horsehead itself. When photographers image this target, they typically also capture its neighbor, the Flame Nebula, which is much brighter and easier to pick up. To find this nebula, first locate the Orion constellation and point out Alnitak, just a hair south of that star you will find both the Horsehead and Flame Nebula. This image shows the region in infrared light, which has longer wavelengths than visible light and can pierce through the dusty material that usually obscures the nebula’s inner regions. Tag us in your images of the Horsehead Nebula for a chance to be featured! #nightsky #astrophotography #universetoday #nightscape #starrynight #milkywaygalaxy #stargazing #Horseheadnebula #astrophoto #nightimages #milkywaychasers #nightshooters #natgeospace #ig_astrophotography #deepsky #space #nasa #celestial #stars #cosmic #nebula #APOD #FlameNebula Source: NASA, ESA
