These types of swims revive the soul. Photo by @scottcbakken
Germany completely blew my mind. It was a country that I didn’t much about and came to with little to no expectations. Very quickly started to realize what a gem this country is. This photo was @scottcbakken and I’s last sunrise before we headed home.
Surround yourself with good people. They will only make you better. @michaelflugstad
While shooting a project about @bryannabradleyphotography ’s story I stopped for a minute to take in the awe of the moment. With the sunsetting and the energy high of so many surfers in the water it was a moment not to be forgetting. Our film from this shoot, ‘Still Moments In Tofino’, will be touring on the @savethewavescoalition film festival. Check out their page for tour dates.
It's in these places where we feel alive. Surrounded by the natural creation that gives us the breath, and our inspiration to create. It's in these places where we truly feel alive. Our work isn’t always as glamorous as it may sometimes seem. To get to the experiences that we long we for it often requires starring at a computer. It's important to us to surround ourselves with nature when we can’t be fully immersed in it. And memories. The more youthful moments that shaped us. The senses that won’t be forgotten. And the moments that are hard to believe happened. We surround ourselves with these times to inspire us to keep searching for them. We remember so we can can learn. And the same with nature, to watch it grow alongside you. And what it teaches us. To maintain a balanced life. Respect your roots. And to take life day by day . Letting go of the past. And living, today.
“We're forced, each man, to walk a trialed path— resisted trek, uphill through blinding daze that shrouds with crucible's perplexing haze till fog-white skies yield quick to black clouds' wrath. Affliction brims a thorny pack to bear whilst dewy darkness drenches in the night, but where is calming lamp to lend us sight? And who will come to give us saving care? Here through veil is heard a whisper certain, then o'er the mountain creeps the dawning day and with clear eyes we see the brume give way as God retracts His theatre's curtain, unsheathing velvet waves whose morning sheen beyond grey mist splays vast and wondrous green.” - Alyssa Underwood
Stud on a stump. @adamcombs
I have a definite fascination with the eeriness of being lost in clouds. A layer that closes us off from the world and forces us to focus only on what’s visible. I find it’s a great metaphor for dealing with the stresses of life. Looking too far forward can sometimes cause us to be overwhelmed instead of focusing on what we can tangibly do in the moment.
Filming around a fire last night with @josiahbarkowsky Summer is here.
LINK TO FULL FILM IS IN MY BIO. In 2016, Field House started a food program as a part of their farm to table initiative, focusing on local produce and connection with the community. Taking underutilized land in the Fraser Valley, three Field House Farms were born, and this is that story. Aiming to share what it looks like for a brewery/restaurant to work closely with a farm, as well as shed light on what the heritage of farming in the Valley can look like in the present.
