Inspired by the wonderful work of urban sketchers I’ve been following , pushed myself to try one today . While my parents went to tour the palace ‘s rooms I sat out for a good hour with my tiny moleskine , squinting counting the windows and spires , railings and trims. A minute into it I realized I’d chosen a not so easy subject 🙈(well, at least for me ) as my first . Loved getting out of my comfort zone though and apart from learning a thing or two about architectural symmetry, ink sketching and the importance of packing the right stationery , also discovered the art of zoning out while among a crowd ☺️ . Adding to the week 3/4 prompt of #urbanscapeschallenge as well - hosted by @artscapes_by_amita @nidaspalette @thepaperjournal inc . And also sending it away for the plein air contest by @creativehandsartmaterials
#kitchenstilllife with wild flowers I foraged with my mum from the field nearby. It seems like these watercolor flowers I painted earlier have manifested into reality when I see them placed together 😍🙏.
And a process video for Sunday flowers 🤗 #watercolorvideo
Happy new month, everyone 🤗here’s a landscape I painted from @andreeredbird ‘s insta.
A couple of scenes from the fields by the Rhine , Meerbusch . The bigger one didn’t come out the way I had visualized it but it got to be a good learning . Trying to be real and not get carried away into reflecting perfection in these little squares . It’s all a process after all 😀 #worldwatercolormonth #rashmismoleskine #rhinebuderich
Reading one of my favorite authors- Jhumpa Lahiri these days . Surprisingly I had skipped her novel “the namesake” since I had watched the movie and am now reading it as part of our local book club for July . What a beautifully written first novel! Her writing always gets me in a nostalgic fuzz , pulling out memories and feelings that have been subconsciously skimmed away . What a gift it is to tell stories the way she does. Anyway , here are some flowers for your Friday 🤗 #worldwatercolormonth
“When you focus on the good, the good gets better” Happy Monday 🤗 #rashmismoleskine
Process video for the wild flowers I posted a couple of days back. Painted with the Raphael petit gris pur size 3/0 #watercolorflowers
Stop and smell the roses . If you cant find roses then paint some, sew some , dream some up . There’s always a way to find what we are seeking ☺️Happy Friday everyone 🤗 #samaayamakesthree
Painted the previous post without the picture frame #worldwatercolormonth
Isn’t it a blessing to be able to bring in nature into our homes. To be able to beautify our nests with these gorgeous colors and shapes and textures . So grateful that I can add sunflowers to the list of flowers that have adorned our home this year . Hyacinths , daffodils , cherry blossoms, magnolias, tulips , peonies , wild daisies and lavender being the others 😍💕 #sunflowers
