This is just disgusting on so many levels. Shame on you, Alabama, and shame on us, America, for sinking to such a low point for women, for reproductive rights, and for human rights. This law would force women (and children ) who have been raped and victimized by incest to carry the child of their perpetrator. These are the laws that increase the risk of maternal mortality for high-risk pregnant mothers. (And the United States already has one of the highest rates of maternal death in the developed world. )

Not a single woman in that picture. No uterus, no opinion. So heartbreaking 💔

All men deciding for wormen. Are we still in the 1800’s?

Even if there wasn't a rape involved, we shouldn't have to become mothers if we don't want to. It's not like getting something off of the sale rack you can just discard. There is no greater victim than an unwanted child.

One can have a personal position on a subject. That should not play into legislation. I’m a man who would rather not have my spouse or daughters chose abortion. But I have NO right to tell them or any women what to do. Shame on Alabama and these out of touch representatives. I’m saddened for all women who have already endured decades of repression. Sad for America.

Who holds men accountable for spreading their seed??? Vasectomies are reversible, perhaps all young men should have a vasectomy until deemed sexually responsible to bring a child into the world. But wait (? ) that would be wrong to control a mans body like that......wouldn’t it?! 🧐

Name every one of these elected officials. Often. This legislation is unbelievable. Shocking and horrifying. Canada has gone on without an official law dealing with abortion for 25 years and we have done fine. Women must have choice.

I loved following you because I thought that you cared about what happened to women. Especially women in Third World countries that were vulnerable and that struggle to safely bring life into the world. I’m un-following you because it seems that you do not care about the rights of the lives inside a mothers womb. Half of the aborted children are women, what right do they have of their bodies when you take away their opportunity to exist outside of the safety of their mom? I think we should protect the rights of all life to live in every country at every stage of life whether two months in utero, 98 years old or a 27-year-old mother struggling to give birth without any help. Life is life.

It's always the same, men deciding on women's bodies. Something should be done!

A very backward state based on the desires of white men and the religious right. How is it that the country is so backward. Why do these guys support war and killing babies in other countries?

It’s not only them, the full blame rests on us, the American people for continuing to accept and to be indifferent to these actions. When I first came here in the 60s we took to the streets to protest decisions such as there. Today we are so complacent and apathetic and “comfortable” to do anything about it. It’s true:shame on us.

Do you think we have a problem? White males making life decisions for us. Thanks for the post! Time to act.

Have they voted on any laws to care for the babies and mothers after birth? Since they are pro-life and all....

When men decide for women’s bodies... what a disgrace.

Human rights would be to keep the baby alive no? I’m very confused here.
