So how do you start your morning? What I do: 1. Meditate for 15 mins 2. Black coffee boosts my metabolism and get my day started right 3. Don’t check my phone for 30 mins ... It allows me to have a clear, unclouded vision of how to attack the day. #menandcoffee Comment below and let me know what your morning ritual is ...
One of my favorite back exercises to add overall detail is pull-ups. But when you do it make sure your hands are wide, elbows flared out, and you pull yourself up with your chest in an upwards position. If you try adding this to your workouts make sure to squeeze all the way through. In my opinion... this is one of the best overall back exercises you can do...... also you can never have enough black hats and hoodies 😏👌🏽🤘🏽💪🏽
Stories like this gives me purpose and reminds me why i do what i do. So proud of how far @radassbadass has come along, but he got there because of himself. I just gave him the tools to reach his goal. Keep on working as hard as you’ve had because there always room to grow and improve 💪🏻 . . . “Josh’s knowledge of health and nutrition is mind-blowing and I can truly say that he knows how to make magic when it comes to strength and conditioning. I was able to drop 26 pounds exceeding well beyond my goal weight all while adding some serious size. I have a new confidence while working out and can’t wait to hit the gym each day. I can’t recommend Josh Howard enough. Trust the process and the results will follow.” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 @radassbadass
•••••••Zone In 👁 —- Before I start my workouts I like to get in the zone and envision the workout before I start it. The reason why I do this is bc it helps me create mind to muscle connection to whatever body part I am training that day.... instead of just throwing weight up. The reason why mind muscle connection is so important is it helps stimulate and isolate the muscle group in which your training for optimum growth!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
A lot of people ask me what I use to decrease muscle fatigue during my workouts! Well during this intense ass workout I was sipping on Bcaa by @fitstrongsupps to keep me going. If you haven’t try it you should, this product is amazing and the flavors are the bomb 💣...... the link to purchase is in my bio and if you use my discount code “Howard” you will get 20% off! It’s going quick so make sure you order soon. Hope you enjoy the product, and let me know what you think 😏
When you’re in contest prep you have to eat every 2.5-3 hours from the time you eat your first meal.....(when you suck at math like me this can get confusing 🤓🤦🏾♂️ ). What that also means is that you have to always have your food on deck when you go out because consistency is key 🔑 in this sport. So sometimes you gotta eat your cold ass chicken and avocado 🥑 on the back of your car. P.S. yes this is the meal half of y’all made fun of me in my story 😤 but my cooking skills are on the come up!!!!
Clips from a fire 🔥 shoulder workout with client and good friend @misslegarda 💪🏽
One of my favorite exercises that @kvorster3 taught me is a variation of pullovers, the purpose of this exercise is to bring out your lats. This variation to me is a great change of pace from the normal dumbbell pullovers because it’s easer to control with the rope and also less stress on my joints because of the angle. Give it try!
One of my favorite gym equipment LegPress! There are so many different angles you can hit leg press. For example in this video with my top leg I am targeting my hamstring and the way my bottom leg is position I am targeting my quad.... this machine is great for both growing leg muscle and adding detail.... it’s something I recommend everyone use during there leg day! 🎥: @dynamite_d
Motivation Monday......... it's not about where you start but it's about where you envision yourself going. Fun fact my weight loss journey all started with a bet that I couldn't give up burgers and get a six pack. So I made that bet not knowing how much weight I actually had to lose to make that possible, but I did. And from there that started my love for fitness and helping others. So again it's not about where you start on your fitness journey it's about seeing and believing where you want to go, and embracing the journey!
Brief clip from my client @jackiegonzzalez doing an exercise that works on her balance control, her core, and her legs...... she crushed that full body workout 👌🏽👌🏽💪🏽
Practice, practice, practice....... I didn't practice enough at Lee Haney games and it showed so I won't make that mistake again practicing at lest an hour a day so I can be comfortable in any and every pose cuz it shows on stage..... so practice makes perfect starting to love this posing shit to 😎😏...... this is me hitting some of my mandatories the other day...... got 12 days like my bro @retrostarkey says to be a SMOOTH NIGGA with it on stage 😏 #practicemakesperfect
#throwbackthursdays to doing one of my favorite back workouts with my boy @kvorster3 we were doing bentover barbell rows I was keeping the weight light and focusing on muscle mind contraction really targeting my middle back and Lats if done right this exercise really helps improve overall back thickness I truly recommend giving it a try
The major difference between classic Physique and bodybuilding..... not besides the obvious one wears male trunks and the other wears briefs. Is the posing with classic the posing should be more of an art form that represents you and your personality and should have a wow factor from setting it up with your transition to hitting your actual pose. Which takes time to learn and do..... thankful for having people like @alfitness21 @_cutz_ teach me this 🤘🏽🙌🏽🔑
Some band work with my client @brookewatersss working on opening up her hips with the bands to mobility..... also great for fighting up the butt and hamstrings
@mahsa_j9 putting in some core work at the end of her workout 😛👏🏽💪🏽🤘🏾
MOOD: F**K your #throwbackthursday 🙃
Practicing posing and flexing in between sets today. The reason why I do this is for better mind muscle connection on stage and also it helps with conditioning. I think my homie @j_buc to getting me to start doing this every workout
