"Wanderer above the sea of fog", inspired by one of my favourite paintings from Caspar David Friedrich. This might not be the best sunrises I have seen but definitely one of the most mental things I have ever seen. When we arrived at this valley it was raining a lot and clouds covered everything. I had absolutely no idea what I am expecting the next morning. We just found a random spot near a lake to camp. We made some badass dinner, ate like this is my last day on earth, laid down in my tent and hoping for rain to stop. But nope, nothing changed. So all my plan for sunset, night sky were gone. All I did was thinking about weird random stuffs. Around 3 am the rain stopped but almost nothing was visible due to low clouds and fogs. I was not too upset about the fact that I might miss the sunrise shooting as I already got enough out of the trip. But mother nature always shows the magic. Just during the sunrise the clouds started to clear, and oh boy it is the most amazing thing when the mountains play with clouds with golden light shining it. I found few wildflowers just near the campground and shot them with the mountain backdrop. But then the clouds from the peaks moved and my jaw dropped, if I remember correctly there were atleast 5 giant peaks infront of me with Glaciers and the light started to hit those peaks. It was absolutely magical to stand there alone. I took atleast 100 intimate mountain shots with epic light conditions. Then I thought ok may be I will just put it in a timelapse mode and wander a bit. This is the trickiest part to shoot, as the light was changing so fast and sometime the clouds were covering the peak and sometime it was clear I had to guess an exposure (thanks to modern day cameras dynamic range it is not that hard ) and time. Time was tricky as I didn't want 1000 images. Getting there was not difficult at all, just a lazy walk for 10-15 min but had to cross a swamp full of horse shits and muds. It was a fun morning for sure followed by some good breakfasts.

Past couple of days have been pretty rough for me, lot of things are happening which were not expected at all. Wasn't feeling like creating any image but still attempted with a bad mood. As a result I kept trying processing a single image for 7-8 times and kept deleting it until I got the satisfactory result. Anyway lets talk about Kyrgyzstan now. Photographing this country had changed my perspective of photography a lot. Most challenging part was 80% of the time I had no idea at all what I am going to expect or shoot. No google earth image, no previously captured image, absolutely zero pre-knowledge. All the work had to be done in the field and that was fun. This is one such example. This place is not far from one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. My goal was to reach that lake and my crazy driver agreed to drive to that lake through a trail where no one else agreed to drive. Suddenly I came across these mountains and I almost shouted "stop stop stop", the way I went out my driver might have thought that I am going to poop. I was so happy that I might have scored a good sunset, light diffusion, river, mountains, oh yeah. But then it came to my mind oh wait! Where is the foreground? Now I have to shoot a foreground, I have less than 10 min, if I don't shoot them with the same light there is no way I can match the light. Nothing interesting was found except some ugly looking rocks. Then I remember when I came in the daytime I saw some spooky looking cactus and it must be somewhere near. Took me a minute to find them and thankfully there was no wind, was easy to quickly focus stack. One more challenge in Kyrgyzstan for landscapers who use a wide angle distortion lot is the size of the mountains. They are so huge that it is almost impossible to shoot them in one frame in landscape mode. Either you take multiple rows/columns or you go vertical. While shooting in fast changing light you have to keep in mind all these facts which matter, not so easy eh! When I returned my driver asked me "you don't want the lake?". I just said "no, I am good, lets go back". He was soo shocked, probably never had a photographer before 😂 @promediagear @haidafilter

"Nature's Color Palette". I generally don't get tired during travelling but this morning I was really hoping for a blank sky so that I can sleep a bit after continuous shooting for sunset, night sky, sunrise for back to back days. Just before the sunrise I peak through the window of the car and I was like "here we go again". But anyway some good Italian black coffee was enough to charge myself for another sunrise. This kind of composition is really my favourite where there are lot of things to worry about, leading line, layers, edge control, dynamic light, dark to light tranistion and huge amount of color contrast. That morning nature decided to show it's true magic. Have you guys checked out the new TK7 Panel (it's some revolutionary thing ) and the new texture slider in photoshop. This texture slider is extremely helpful to apply Orton Light selectively and it doesn't create HDR'ish, patchy black effect as clarity slider... I was interviewed by a magazine recently where there was a specific part to describe creativity vs copycat compositions. Here is a classic example. This was shot by Marc. This stream had already been shot several times (still not like thousand times as it is not easy to get here and thankfully many people are afraid of cold ). Still this composition is nothing new. No matter how beautiful the scene was, this doesn't give me any creative or artistic satisfaction. Yes I got the moon and some amazing light on the mountain, but so what! That's nature's addition and nothing mine. Yes if I had not seen any of those previous shots this would have probably been one of my personal favourites of all time. But now nope.. Same goes for Abraham Lake Ice Bubbles and several other images. Only satisfaction I have from this shot is that I was able to pull out the focus stacking handheld as my tripod legs were not opening (quite common in Canadian winter 😂 ) #landscapephotography #landscape #landscape_lover #landscape_lovers #alberta #nature #naturephotography #naturelovers #nature_good #art #artist #abstractart #natgeo #explore #instagram #instagood #sunset #sunrise #color #california #travel #travelphotography #ourplanetdaily #earth #picoftheday #longexpoelite #fstopgear #fstopcommunity #fstopphotochallenge #fstoplongexposure @fstopgear @sandisk @tetherstraps

Something different than what you are used to see from Spray Lake in the Kananaskis Country. This was taken when the last light was hitting the tree lines on one of the mountains creating amazing layers of light and shadows. It was taken with the Tamron 100-400mm, then was cropped to a small part of the image but the latest Enhanced Details technology of the ACR/LR helped to keep lot of details even at such a high crop. #landscapephotography #landscape #landscape_lover #landscape_lovers #canada #nature #naturephotography #naturelovers #nature_good #art #artist #abstractart #tree #explore #instagram #instagood #sunset #sunsets #color #winter #travel #travelphotography #ourplanetdaily #earth #picoftheday #colors #alberta #banff #nikon #natgeo

Do you like my cracking foreground? It's not the crack men love but still mot bad, eh! 😉 Have you done a road trip through the Southwest? If not this should be your next destination. Can't tell in words how epic Death Valley, Alabama Hills, Utah and Arizona are. I was blessed with epic sunrises and sunsets throughout this trip. I have pretty much decided to do the same trip next December. 2-4 hours of sleeping everyday, 18 straight sunrise and sunsets, driving 4-6 hours on average everyday to change location was pretty much over the limit for me. But the images I came back with are the rewards of the hard work I put there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- #landscapephotography #landscape #landscapes #landscape_love #photography #art #usa #america #nature #naturelover #naturelovers #naturephotography #longexposure #photoshop #nikon #earth #instagram #natgeo #photooftheday #travelphotography #color #colorful #mountain #mountains #beautiful #nationalpark #instagood #photography #awesome #shainblumff

Milkyway over tre cime. Foreground taken during blue hour in order to get the flowers sharp. I tried the same composition during night but it didn't work due to the wind. If you want to shoot the wildflowers and milkyway like this with me and @mydetoxtravel this summer check the workshop link in bio. #night #nightphotography #nature #naturelover #naturelovers #naturephotography #landscape #landscapes #landscapephotography #landscapelove #art #photography #photooftheday #photoshop #longexposure #longexpoelite #longexposure_shots #italy #europe #natgeo #landscape_love #photographer #universe #space #milkyway #nikon #instagood #instagram #dolomites #italia

A blue hour shot from a pristine place in Death Valley. A big shoutout to my buddy @j_r_moran_photography and his rig "Little Hippo", without them this shot would have been impossible. Lets talk some nerd stuffs today. Lets talk about 3 of the most important aspects for my photography which doesn't require any gear, any tool: Color- How many of you know about the color wheel? If not go google it. Almost 99% of my images were based on color theory. Most of my sunrises shots including this is either Analogous or DIAD except when I am shooting wildflowers, plants etc. There is no way one can teach you what to use when. It is just a personal choice and takes years of practice. Thankfully I have a background in painting and I learnt these things way before I knew what a DSLR camera is. Direction of Light- Another important thing when you are shooting sunrise or sunset. Back light, side light, direct light. Composition- Really crucial for me. In short "Don't shoot the obvious". I won't shoot anything if I don't find a proper composition. No matter if the sky is on fire or there is milkyway above my head. I spend atleast 1 hour in a place to find something interesting. This shot was taken in a salt flat and there were thousands of those structures. Finding the best one took quite a bit of time ; ) All of these are just personal choice. Whether you want to take it or not is upto you. Again there is no certain rule in photography, one can do things without using any of them : ) #fstopcommunity #fstopgear #fstopphotochallenge #fstoplongexposure @fstopgear @sandisk @tetherstraps

Definitely not the type of image which will get much attention on social media like instagram but definitely the type of image which gives me immense amount of self satisfaction as an artist. Trust me it is not easy at all to get these kind of shots, someone named them "minimalism" but imo it is extremely complex to get this kind of abstracts. The last light hitting the dunes is quite a thing to see. "Dream On" Nikon D810+ Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 250mm. Panorama of 6 images, handheld Lot of people asked me how do I get this tone in most of my images. The answer is simple, I shoot a lot during the blue hours. During certain hours of the day this kind of purple/magenta/red colors reflect and it is my favourite time to shoot, whether before sunrise or after sunset. About this image oh well it couldn't be any better than this for me. It was like a painting, blue hour hues, full moon, painted hills and that cloud. But funny thing is I was skeptical about shooting this place, as the overcrowded parking lot and the fact that I have seen thousand of images from this place before made me think whether I want to take a photo or not. So I decided to hike up the small hills around it with a German Couple whom I met there in the parking lot. I took my camera with me and the big canon sent by Tamron for this trip and my espresso on other hand. Just near about the end of the hike I saw this cloud is forming quickly. I knew exactly what is going to happen. I drank a mug of espresso like a tequila shot and told the couple "I will join you later I need to go down", the way I ran they might have thought that I need to poop immediately. I got what I wanted, it was tricky to capture a panorama handheld with a giant lens and that too handheld. #mountains #landscape #instagood #photooftheday #nature #amazingearth #natgeo #sunset #art #beautiful #colorful #visualsofearth #travelling #landscapephotography #earth #mountain #geography #bestvacations #explore #adventure #discover #travel #nature #beautiful #earthpix #discoverearth #natgeo100contest #longexposureoftheday #photography #longexposure

Burning Sand Nikon D810+ Tamron 150-600 G2 @ 600mm Let's kick off 2019 by posting something really different than what I generally do. I found it extremely difficult to find the perfect composition in the sand dunes, especially with a zoom lens. The first day was total failure for me, end up shooting some shitty abstract. I went back again but failed again. Got something better than the first day but not what I was looking for. I spent hours running from one dune to another without getting anything, then I realized no it is not going to work like this, I need to do it in my way. So I went back to a restaurant and after drank couple of glasses of Californian Pinot Grigio and relaxed. And the very next day "Voila"! I got what I wanted. #natgeo #natgeolandscape #nature_perfection #earth_shotz #planet_earth_shots #Magic_Marvels #nb_nature_brilliance #wonderful_places #earthpix #discoverearth #nakedplanet #OurPlanetDaily #jaw_dropping_shots #earthfocus #aroundtheworldpix #AGameofTones #globeshotz #igworld_global #depthsofEarth #beautifuldestinations #eclectic_shotz #discoverglobe #awesomeglobe #gottolove_this #worldprime #master_shots #hubs_united #DeathValleyLove #nationalparkgeek #natgeo100contest @deathvalleynps

If you are afraid of Grizzlies then GNP's backcountry is not a wise option. Otherwise the backcountry in Glacier National Park is the paradise for outdoor lovers. It has infinite things to offer, glacier lakes, wildflowers, random waterfalls and of course fresh grizzly poops. When we were hiking up to this place we spotted two huge grizzlies with their cubs far away in the mountains. So we decided to come back before it gets dark and empty. However Grinell lake was so awesome that I spent lot of time there until I realized that me and my travel buddy are the last hikers left there. So we decided that it will be wise to walk down faster. But just after I left the lake I saw the sky is getting crazy colors, and I was like should I go back to the lake? Then I quickly realized that this spot will offer something better than the lake itself. So I literally rushed down to this location. My friend was continuously warning me that we need to get back before its get dark and I was like "5 minutes". That 5 minutes was turned into 20 minutes or more and eventually we had to hike down in the dark. I will be honest when I was passing the same spot we spotted those grizzlies, I was really scared. But eventually we came down safely. I can't wait to get back to Glacier National Park next year and do more backcountry stuff there. #glaciernationalpark #MontanaMoment #earth_shotz #eclectic_shotz #big_shotz #earth_shotz #splendid_earth #nakedplanet #roamtheplanet #TourThePlanet #TheGlobeWanderer #awesomeglobe #discoverglobe #awesome_photographers #nationalearth #awesomeearth #awesomedreamplaces #awesome_earthpix #fantasticcolours #TravelAwesome #natgeocreative #wildernessculture #travellingthroughtheworld #discoverearth #fstopgear #fstopcommunity #fstopphotochallenge #fstopwildflowers

Once you track you never come back. Officially this was my first milkyway image taken with a tracker. Since then I have never taken a milkyway shot without it and I am 99% sure I ever will. After getting these kind of details with a tracker who will take 30 sec exposure anyway. #milkywaychasers #Nightskape #NightScaper #nightphotography nightphotography_exclusive  #Nights_DreamWorld #nightviewplanet #timelessuniverse #earthfocus #earth_shotz #globeshotz #big_shotz #splendid_earth #longexpo_addiction #longexpoelite #longexposure_shots #igrefined #earthpix #landscape_nightscape #natgeospace #ExquisiteEarth #NatureGeography #TheGlobeWanderer #globeshotz #awesomeglobe #discoverglobe #awesome_earthpix #awesomeearth #travellingthroughtheworld #WeLiveToExplore #fantastic_earth @nationalparkservice

Nutcracker (-40°C ) Oh the name is not inspired from Tchaikovsky' Nutcracker. This image was taken on the coldest day in Canada last year. The temperature was -40°C with a strong chilly wind. Hiking up to this place at 2am in the night through one of the most grizzly populated trails in GNP was one of the best thing I have ever done. We had to think twice whether to go up there in the middle of the night should be a wise decision or not but then we gathered enough courage to hike up there way before sunrise. A loud whistle and some loud crap songs were my defence. While coming back we found fresh Grizzly poop on the trail. This has to be definitely one of my favourite lakes along with Sorapis in Italy. The colour of the water is just unbelievable and during sunrise this place really looks like a dream. When I arrived there it was totally dark, only thing I realized was there is a lake and I had no idea how beautiful it could be. When the twilight started I was like omfg, is this even real? Looking for composition was fun, there were wildflowers stack everywhere but I was looking for something near to perfect. I saw few Indian Paintbrushes near the lake but then I saw these yellow flowers way up the trail. Didn't hesitate to go up there. This was the most perfect view I ever came across, yellow flowers, Turquoise Glacier Lake and direct light, what else do I need, eh! Next year I am definitely camping there for one whole day. #fstopgear #fstopcommunity #fstopphotochallenge #fstopwildflowers
