A coastal brown bear standing up to survey the river for more salmon! He was using those big paws and claws to catch fish as they were swimming up river and eventually leaping over the falls. This photo was taken by @J_Leeroy on our our #glaciersandgrizzlies adventure, in Alaska. We would love it if more of our followers and friends would join us on the next adventure! Tanzania 🇹🇿 Safari! I feel so fortunate that I was able to put together this trip and have so many amazing people join me. One of them, @olaolenska works with me now, how cool is that?! From dancing to Toto, jumping with the Maasai, getting down with the lions or having popcorn stolen by baboons, it was an amazing experience that I’m super grateful for. I hope more of my friends, family, and friends I haven’t met yet join us for more safaris in the near future. #soultravelers #gondwana_ecotours #safari

Life after Maria. Want to support the spectacularly beautiful Puerto Rico? Visiting the island is help in itself. Tourism dollars mean that more than 50,000 people will keep their jobs and businesses will keep running. Booking hotels, patronizing restaurants and bars, shopping in local stores, sustaining artists by visiting galleries and supporting musicians by taking in live music are all helpful to the economy. Getting outside the capital will aid communities even more in need. “Taking day or overnight trips and spending money in a community outside of San Juan is important, too,” says Manolo Lopez, founder of the Cosa Nuestra Relief Fund. “Go to Arecibo, Ponce, Mayagüez, Isabela — these are towns with a lot to offer, so much charm, and beautiful beaches. They depend on their local economy to get back on their feet.” 📸Photo by Stephanie Maze, Getty Images. #soultravelers

So the rule of thumb when #bearviewing is to stay 50 yards from the bears. However, the animals follow their own rules! This mother and three cubs just kept coming closer and closer. The little cub in this video became especially curious so right after it cuts out our guide had us stand up for a second and talk loudly so the cubby would return to his mother. As cute as he was, we wanted him or her to keep distance and keep the mom from involving herself. It worked and then we were able to let the bears pass merrily on their way eating sedge grass in the meadow. Our bear viewing guide was a true pro and was calm and collected and did his best to keep us and the bears safe and happy. This park is a unique place where bears are not scared of humans as they are not hunted and only a few people visit the area as it is so remote. This grass is a bit of a protein rich super grass for these guys that they eat as a supplement between fish and other tastier items. #glaciersandgrizzlies #soultravelers #gondwana_ecotours

After mama bear made sure it was safe, she took her adorable three little spring cubs to the creek to drink and cool off. This mother bear has three cubs from the spring. She seemed very comfortable with us but wasn’t too sure about other bears nearby. When she got a whiff of one getting closer she stood up to investigate. It was heartwarming to see such vigilant mothering. Even more heartwarming was watching the little cubs learning from her and imitating her, as if they are going to be able to see anything or help 😂🐻😍🏔. #iphonex #glaciersandgrizzlies #gondwana_ecotours #soultravelers

This three day extension from our Patagonia & Mendoza Adventure takes you to Iguazu Falls, located on the river border between Argentina and Brazil. The waterfalls are surrounded by lush tropical jungle and wildlife including coatis, capybaras, howler monkeys and toucans. This incredible system contains 275 falls and has the greatest annual flow of any waterfalls in the world at over 1500 cubic meters per second. Rainbows form over the water making for amazing views and epic photographs. The “Devil’s Throat” is the most spectacular of all, at a staggering 269 feet tall and nearly 500 feet wide. For comparison, the biggest of the Niagara Falls is only 188 feet tall and half as wide. There are various paths and viewing platforms to explore in the area, including lower ones with panoramic views and boat rides where you can feel the spray of the falls, and higher trails including one for brave travelers going directly over “Devil’s Throat”. This location is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was recently named one of the New 7 Natural Wonders of the World. Your guide, Dani Catania is a local tour veteran with more than a decade of experience. He is bilingual and will coordinate with the locals to show you all the best spots while teaching you about the native wildlife and culture. The majestic scenery of Iguazu Falls is truly a must-see location when visiting Argentina, and Dani is the one to show it to you.
